Hello All,
Well the 33rd Walla Walla CBC proved to be a fairly finchless event. We were
able to locate the following interesting numbers and species..............

California Quail...........742 birds! CBC high
Wild Turkey..................171 birds, CBC high, lots of Turkeys and NO
native grouse!!
Barn Owl.......................2 birds
Great Horned Owls.......8 birds
Northern Pygmy Owl....2 birds
Long-eared Owls...........2 birds
Short-eared Owls...........2 birds
Western Screech-Owls..6 birds
Black-billed Magpie......341 birds
Northern Shrike..............5 birds, ties CBC high
Bohemian Waxwing......49 birds
WILLIAMSONS SAPSUCKER...1 ad.male, first for CBC
Northern Flicker............132 birds, CBC high
Western Bluebirds.........11birds
Townsends Solitaire......12 birds, CBC high
Hermit Thrush................13 birds, CBC high
Varied Thrush.................98 birds, CBC high
Fox Sparrow.....................2 birds, CBC high
Common Redpoll............4 birds
Am. Tree Sparrow...........4 birds, CBC high

We could not find......

Mountain Chickadee
Chestnut-backed Chickadee
White-breasted Nuthatch
Red Crossbill
Cassins Finch
Pine Grosbeak
Evening Grosbeak
Northern Goshawk

We had 30 participants and started out under a hazy overcast in a crisp 9
degrees F.
There was a total of 75 species
