The female Snowy continues in Edmonds at the south end of the Marina
breakwater. At 11:30 a.m. today she was perched atop the breakwater
just opposite C Dock. The approach is from the Marina Beach parking
lot. As you walk along the portion of the breakwater that is next to
the beach you can see her fairly well from about the second "No
Trespassing" sign. Binoculars, but not a scope, are needed for a
good view. If you go down today, avoid the beach itself as there is
a baby harbor seal resting there. I was met by a beach ranger as
soon as I pulled into the parking lot, asking me to avoid that area.
I was quite agreeable as we are required by the Marine Mammal
Protection Act to keep a goodly distance. I think it is 300 feet or so.
