Hi Tweeters -
This morning, Michael Hobbs & I spent a couple soggy hours hoping for
a return visit from the King Eider Gene Hunn spotted yesterday. We
had no luck, but hope it was just temporarily away. Given the recent
reports on the Vancouver King Eider, it may turn out that this bird
is present but travelling over a wide area, so keep your eyes out
throughout the Sound. Please send along any negative or positive
reports.

Our optics were not in the best of shape for the morning, but the
highlight birds were definitely the number of Red-throated Loons.
Probably a dozen or more were in quite close to shore - more than
I've ever seen in the county. A Sea Lion also put in a brief visit,
with a big fish in its mouth.

Good luck on the Eider search,
