Saturday, December 17th, 7:53pm. This is Scott Atkinson, reporting some
birding results prior to the Everett CBC. At the Everett Sewage Treatment Plant,
in the pond on the rightside of the rd as you are walking toward Spencer Is,
and in with a large number of gulls, there was an adult winter plumaged
SLATY-BACKED GULL. It was relocated about 2:00 along the eastside of the pond, then
at 4:00 it was near the westside. Also you might check the river as the gulls
move back and forth from the ponds to the river.
Near Spencer Island bridge this morning early, there were 2 BARN SWALLOWS, 6
TREE SWALLOWS, a COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, and 3 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS. North,
along the paved path that parallels Spencer Island, about 1/2 mile north,
there was a 1st year GOLDEN EAGLE soaring. Finally, at the entrance gate to the
Beringer Farm, close to Marysville, there was single AMERICAN TREE SPARROW.
