Now that the Columbia Gorge is starting to thaw out and we have
electric power again I will post a partial sighting report from the
Washington side of the Sauvie Island C.B.C. I still have to three more
sectors to get reports from but so far we tallied 89 species which was
more than I expected from a windy day that first turned snowy and then
into freezing rain.

Some of the better species found were:

Trumpeter Swan
Canvasback
Common Goldeneye
White-tailed Kite
Merlin
Short-eared Owl
Northern Saw-whet Owl
Hutton's Vireo
Western Bluebird
American Pipit
Orange-crowned Warbler
