I am a birder and a hunter. The newest steel shot has a much higher velocity
than lead and as a result there are in less misses and cripples than with
our old lead shot. As a result, most hunters use high velocity steel even
where it is not required.

Also do not forget that most of your birding wildlife refuges are there
because of the Duck Stamp and ammunition and firearms excise taxes we pay to
acquire and support refuges.

When was the last time you birders bought a Duck Stamp?
