I stopped by the Steigerwald Lake N.W.R. near Washougal today
(12/29/05) and found one ROSS' GOOSE in the large mixed flocks of Canada
and Cackling Geese. The bird was easily visible from the shoulder of
Highway 14 at milepost 18. There has also been a first year Snow Goose in
this flock at times but it looks grayish compared to the clean white of
the Ross' Goose.
