Subject: [Tweeters] Birds in the News #41 -- End of the Year Edition --

From: Devorah Bennu - birdologist at yahoo.com

Hi tweets,

Birds in the News #41 is now available. This issue
features a lovely photograph of a Snowy Owl, Nyctea
scandiaca, that was taken by Marc Hoffman in Discovery
Park. Not only is this a gorgeous photo, but it also
resonates with me in this last issue of the year
because one of my pseudonyms that I use on my blog is
"Hedwig the Owl" for Harry Potter's faithful companion
who links him to his magical friends by delivering
messages between them. Thanks to my blog, I sometimes
feel I am a messenger between birds and the public, an
honorable role if one thinks about it.

Other stories that are available include more CBC
results, all of which are included in very well
written stories, most of which explore the usefulness
of CDC data at the local level. I recommend that you
spend a little time reading these linked stories to
gain a more complete appreciation for the data, for
the history of the event and for the time and effort
that went in to reporting the CBC at the local level.

If you run across CBC news stories or links other
"birdy" news stories, please send the link to me so I
can include them in next week's edition of Birds in
the News. Birds in the News is a link harvest that
indexes and reviews the week's news stories about
birds from around the world. It is published every
friday. Today's URL;
