I recently traveled to Oaxaca where I saw many birds, some were
wintering there, and others were indigenous. One 3.5 hours tour, lead
by a Canadian ornithologist, Mike Malone, on Laguna Manialtepec near
Puerto Escondido revealed 61 bird species (which I can list if anyone
is interested). Since I am particularly interested in ospreys, it was
thrilling to see many apparently doing well in places with abundant
