Hi Judy,

It appears to be a normal American Crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos). It's
definitely not a raven and the other two crow species- Fish Crow (Corvus ossifragus)
and Northwestern Crow (Corvus caurinus) are both smaller than American Crows
but are not found in Montana. There is also a debate as to if there is even
such a thing as a "Northwestern Crow."
Perhaps it's just on the small side but the beak is normal/a little above
average? I suppose it could be a vagrant of C. caurinus but that seems highly
unlikely. However, you never know.

Speaking of crows, did anyone go to Dr. Ha's lecture on the genetic studies
of Northwestern Crows? I wasn't able to make it and if anyone could share what
she talked about, that would be great.
