Birders,

Today Ryan Tomlinson and I spent the day birding in the South and Central
Okangan. We had a very good day, finishing with 77 species!

Our first road of interest was McKiney Road, W. of Oliver. We spent a couple
hours covering the road from Mount Baldy all the way down to Oliver and
found just about 20 species along the road. We then continued on to
traditional South Okanagan locations like Road 22, Vaseux Lake and Osoyoos
Lake. We added quite a few birds along this stretch, then briefly checked
Esplanade Trails in Penticton. Once in Kelowna we checked Munson's Pond,
Rotary Marshes, Mission Creek and Trevor Forder's house. We got our 77th
species at about 7:00 PM, a Northern Saw-whet Owl at Trevors. Below is our
list for the benefit of the February list.
