Tim and Tweeters,

Tim, shall I send you a few bandtails to help start your season? Day before
yesterday I had 48 at my feeder - *not* under my feeder. Oh no, these guys
will try to hang on tube feeders (rather unsuccessfully), teeter at the
edges of other small feeders, inhale all of the sunflower seeds off the
large tray feeder in minutes, and even land on the window edge looking in
at me (for directions to more seeds?). Anyway, they are here all year -
usually in smaller numbers. I am very wooded with conifers which makes a
difference.

Neat birds, but when I see a pile of feathers it is usally full of 'dove'
grey feathers. They aren't too wary about predators, it seems, but panic
when I even appear at a window, for the most part.

Cheers, Diann
