My Brother Dan braved the blowing sand and brisk north wind to show George
Gerdts and I the Burrowing Owl this late afternoon at 4:30. He found the owl
about an hour earlier and waited for us to arrive. What a brother!

It is about a 10 minute walk (+-) west along the beach from the parking area
of the Fort Flagler lighthouse area. Look for a wire hanging down from the
bluff. At the bottom of the wire (about 1/3 of the way up the bluff) you can
see some whitewash. The owl was here. I make it sound so easy given that my
brother stood near its location!
