Hello All,
With temps in the low forties and a cold wind blowing, Michael Willison, MerryLynn and I headed out into western Walla Walla Co. to see just what was in the area, we saw the following species of note..........

Glaucous Gull.......1 second winter bird on the poop piles.
Northern Saw-whet Owl......1 at Hood Park
Great Horned Owl...............1 at Hood Park
White-breasted Nuthatch.....1 at Hood Park
Red-breasted Nuthatch.........1 at Hood Park
Brown Creeper.....................2 at Hood Park

Cackling Geese...................3500+ on the display pond at McNary NWR, HQ in Burbank. Also mixed in this large flock were six hybrid White-fronted X Cackling Geese. All were the same size as the thousands of Cackling Geese they were with. So considering the the recent creation of the Cackling Goose and its unique DNA seperating it from Canada Geese, what do you do with hybrid Cackling X White-fronted Geese. Will that change anything? I took photos of two of these birds should anyone be interested.

Greater White-fronted Goose.......1 ad. on the HQ display pond at McNary.
Sharp-shinned Hawk.......4 birds for trip.
