Well, the People For Puget Sound BirdSound survey was called off this morning along the Duwamish River, due to generally pissy weather. I decided I'd still go down, in the hopes of at least spotting an eagle, maybe an Osprey. Sure enough, there was a Bald Eagle in a tree across from T-105, got a couple of decent looks through my 12x50's. Out in the water were at least a dozen Red-breasted Mergansers, a few Mallards, Gadwalls and Double-crested Cormorants, and one Western Grebe. Also heard an Anna's Hummingbird and a singing Bewick's Wren.

On the way back to downtown, I got off the bus over by the stadiums and walked towards King Street Station and the ID. I heard a high-pitched, piercing call, once, twice, thrice and there is was! The first Osprey of the 2005 season flew over on the way to the waterfront. Nice! I swear we're gonna have an early spring migration..

In the meantime...Are U Ready 4 Some Football? E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles! Good birding y'all!
