For those who've missed the previous discussion---

The Burrowing Owl in question was raised in Vancouver BC as part of a program
to bolster the plumetting eastern BC (and much of North America) population.
It was released in se. BC this April.

This species may have nested in the early 1900s or previously in limited
natural grassland areas in w. Washington, but was likely never widespread nor
common as most of the region was forested.
