All...

Went up the Skagit yesterday for the Eagles.

Weather: Temps in the 35-45 Deg range all day. Wind began day around
1/2-MPH but by mid-afternoon, at least up river above Marblemount, averaging
~7-MPH. Humidity in the 65%-70% range all day. Had rain squalls, snow
showers, a hail storm in Mt Vernon, some fog, and by afternoon, bright
sunshine. Typical Washington winter day. The River was quite high, running
fast, and very muddy. Saw nothing on the River itself all day. Few ponds had
usual Mallards, Buffleheads, etc. But nothing in the River.

Johnson-DeBay Swan Reserve: (The gate to the parking area is still
locked. But able to see the Swans through the gate.)

~500 Trumpeter Swans (they all took off just as I stopped at the
gate. Am positive there were Tundra's mixed in, but too far away to get good
looks. Mostly ID'd on voice and size. Definitely trumpeting!)
31 Mallards - South Pond as you drive into the Reserve. Nothing on
North side. Pond very very muddy from the rains.

South Skagit River Hwy (aka Old Skagit River Hwy):

7 Bald Eagles
20 American Robins
2 Great Blue Herons
10 Black-Capped Chickadees

SR20, Rockport to Newhalem & back:

18 Bald Eagles
1 Common Loon flying by
1 Great Blue Heron
