Cascadia Hummingbird Report - 02/07/2005

Much to my surprise, several reports of returning males came in this
week including multiple individuals at a feeder in Ocean Park, WA where
the observer was (by 2-4) obliged to add feeders so the ANNA'S
HUMMINGBIRDS
wouldn't be run off. Multiple males were also reported from Waldport, OR.

Ocean Park, WA 01-31-2005 46.4853 124.0514
Port Orford, OR 02-01-2005 42.7499 124.4955
Paradise, CA 02-01-2005 39.7510 121.6062
Waldport, OR 02-04-2005 44.4138 123.9775
Astoria, OR 02-04-2005 46.1876 123.8362
Chico, CA 02-05-2005 39.7538 121.8069

An unidentified _Selasphorus_ hummingbirds (Rufous or Allen's) was also
reported from Bandon, OR.

In other hummingbird news, a suspected Costa's x Anna's Hummingbird
was photographed in Merlin, OR. This is the second report of this
cross in Southern Oregon (the first was from Ashland, OR in mid-Jan).
