I tried again, unsuccessfully, for the Baikal teal this morning at the Kent
ponds. There were several other birders present, but I don't think any of
them saw the bird either. Nevertheless, there were at least a dozen Barn
swallows present, both adult and juvenile birds, easily seen from the
southeastern observation platform.
