Hi Steve and Tweeters,

Our development of Checklists for Washington State and the 39 counties in the state follows the taxonomic order of the A.O.U. Check-list of North American Birds, (currently) Seventh Edition, which currently incorporates changes made in the 42nd<http://aou.org/checklist/Suppl42.pdf>, 43rd<http://aou.org/checklist/Suppl43.pdf>, 44th<http://aou.org/checklist/Suppl44.pdf>, and 45th<http://aou.org/checklist/Suppl45.pdf> Supplements to the Check-list. This Check-list is available on the web at: http://aou.org/checklist/index.php3<http://aou.org/checklist/index.php3>

(1) We update our lists each time A.O.U. makes changes to their list that effects species
on the Washington State list. (This means every time there is an A.O.U. change
effecting WA lists, we change our State and County lists and publish a new WA
State Checklist in the newsletter.)

(2) We add the new species we have been made aware of, to checklists every 3 months,
after publishing them in "County Firsts" column of Washington Birder newsletter and
therefore can print out an "updated" State or County checklist whenever they may be
requested.
