A CAPE MAY WARLBER is coming to a feeder in the East Spokane Valley, Spokane
Co WA. Identified on 5 Feb my Cindy McCormick, the bird has been
photographed (http://www.pbase.com/clinton62) and seen by several observers.
The owners are welcoming birders between 9:30 and 11:30 am to a
predetermined area of their yard. For specifics, contact Cindy McCormick at

The Moscow, Latah Co ID RUSTY BLACKBIRDS continue to be seen. The latest
sighting was 5 Feb by Terry Gray. The birds are at the University of Idaho
Sheep Farm, northeast of the Palouse Mall on the western edge of Moscow.
>From Winco, head north past the theatre. At the stop sign continue straight
toward the wood chip pile. Follow the road as it winds back to the farm.

In the Lewiston, Nez Perce Co ID area some good birds are persisting. As of
5 Feb the roosting NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL continues in Spalding Park near
Lapwai. Head east from Lewiston on US 95 toward Lapwai. Just after crossing
the river, turn left into the Nez Perce historical site and immediately turn
right, heading down hill toward the picnic area. At the stop sign, turn left
and follow the road over the bridge to the grove of trees / cemetery /
picnic area. Check the blue spruce between the giant sequoia and the fenced
area around the homestead. ID DeLorme 54, A-1.5.

In western Walla Walla Co WA, Mike and MerryLynn Denny report a single
second-winter GLAUCOUS GULL at the Walula poop piles on 5 Feb and a LESSER
BLACK-BACKED GULL at the Walla Walla River delta on 6 Feb. This is the sixth
year in a row for the Lesser at the delta. The poop piles are about 4 miles
north of the jct of US 12 and US 730 along US 12. There's a nice pull-out at
US 12 milepost 303. The delta can be accessed 0.1 mile north of Madame
Dorian Park. There's a pull-out along US 12 at milepost 306.9 and a path to
the delta. WA DeLorme 40, D-1.

Carole Vande Voorde passed along a report of an Idaho SNOWY OWL near
Craigmont, Lewis Co ID. Go due north from the high school on Airport Road
about 4 miles and make a right turn where the trees begin. The owl was seen
between Airport Road and Fisher Road. ID DeLorme 54 AB-2.5.

On 30 Jan Doug Schonewald found a ROSS'S GOOSE at Neppel Landing in Moses
Lake, Grant Co WA. Also present were 2 to 3 swans that appeared to be
sub-adult TRUMPETER SWANS. Neppel Landing Park can be accessed from either
Dogwood (a dead-end street) or Ash Street to the west of Broadway Avenue.

On 3 Feb at Electric City, Grant Co WA, at the North Dam, Gina Sheridan
reports a second-winter GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL. Further south along the
entrance road to Steamboat Rock SP was a LONG-EARED OWL. Further south along
WA 155 between mile marker 14 and 13 on Bank's Lake was a single GLAUCOUS
GULL and a first-winter GLAUCOUS GULL. Further south at the south end of
Bank's Lake were 2 first winter and an adult THAYER'S GULLS and a second
winter GLAUCOUS GULL. On 6 Feb, at the Coulee Playland Marina was a single
first-winter GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL on the log booms. On the north end of the
Grand Coulee Dam Airport, she reports a HARRIS' SPARROW. WA DeLorme 85.
