Subject: [Tweeters] An astounding coincedence, or maybe just karma

My daughter woke me up just after 6am to announce that my new live mouse
trap had succeeded. I blearily got dressed and took the trap with rodent
outside and starting hiking the trail into the woods over the creek whence
no mouse has ever returned from. As I stopped to flip the mouse out of the
trap, a Barred owl came into focus, perched not too high on a tree in front
of me. I stopped to admire the bird then chuckled at the coincedence or
karma of it. What are the odds of walking into the woods with a mouse in
your hand and finding an owl? Haven't seen a barred here since last year.
To my dissapointment he did not go after the mouse when I released it in an
open space in obvious view of the owl. It did perk up and do the head circle
behavior, but apparently was either not hungry or not comfortable with me
standing nearby. I had a field trip to get ready for so I left both to their
fate.

I hope tommorrow brings me another mouse and owl cause I have all day to
watch.
