Drove by Para Ponds today and found about 700 northern pintail and this usually indicates spring migration is kicking in. The earliest date for a large # of pintail was last year on Feb. 13th when I had 800.

I also had 40 tricolored blackbirds and this is by far the largest group I have seen at this sight.
