In Olympia, Washington the REDWING was seen on February 7
and 8, and the BAIKAL TEAL was last seen on February 1
at the Kent Ponds in Kent, near Seattle. For further updates on

Sightings for Wednesday, February 9

A BARRED OWL was seen in Bear Creek Park in Surrey.

20 COMMON REDPOLLS were in the southwest corner of
the Hastings Park Sanctuary in Vancouver.


Sightings for Tuesday, February 8

A GRAY-CROWNED ROSY FINCH was at the end of the Iona
Island south jetty in Richmond.

The RUSTY BLACKBIRD was again seen at the railway crossing
on 72nd Street south of Highway 10 in Delta, and the AMERICAN
KESTREL continues along Highway 10 near 88th Street.

A (EURASIAN) GREEN-WINGED TEAL was at Elgin Heritage Park
on Crescent Road in Surrey.


Sightings for Monday, February 7

Two YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS and a BROWN-HEADED
COWBIRD were at 72nd Street in Delta near the railway crossing.

AMERICAN KESTRELS were along Highway 91 at 64th Avenue
and along Highway 10 at 88th Street in Delta.

A singing HUTTON'S VIREO was behind the BC Institute of Technology
in Burnaby, at the Fern Glen residential complex.

A NORTHERN GOSHAWK and a (HARLAN'S) RED-TAILED HAWK
were seen along the entrance road to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in
Delta.


Sightings for Sunday, February 6

A (KUMLIEN'S) ICELAND GULL was seen off 72nd Street in Delta,
in a field near the railway tracks.

In Pitt Meadows on Koerner Road east of Rannie Road, south of the
Ecological Reserve, were 10 WESTERN MEADOWLARKS, and
along the road coming from the Pitt Lake parking lot were 5
REDHEADS and a YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER of the Myrtle
race.


Sightings for Saturday, February 5

A PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER in breeding plumage, first reported
on Thursday, was again seen about halfway out the south jetty at
Iona Island in Richmond. 3 GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES
continue to be seen at the end of the jetty.

An AMERICAN KESTREL was at Highway 10 and Highway 99 in Delta.

The Reifel Bird Sanctuary had a BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-
HERON, a GOLDEN EAGLE, a CACKLING GOOSE, a
GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE, 2 SANDHILL CRANES,
and 50 COMMON REDPOLLS near the viewing tower.

3 MUTE SWANS were off the Westham Island bridge, and an
AMERICAN KESTREL was along Highway 10 near 80th St. in Delta.

Two RUDDY TURNSTONES were at the end of the Tsawwassen Jetty
near Berth One along with a SURFBIRD and 42 BLACK TURNSTONES.

A RUSTY BLACKBIRD was in high trees on the road to the Boundary
Bay Airport 200 meters east of 72nd Street in Delta.

A LONG-EARED OWL was south of the cricket pitch in Stanley Park.


Sightings for Friday, February 4

3 SURFBIRDS and 35 BLACK TURNSTONES were at the end
of the Tsawwassen ferry jetty at Berth One, while 4 BLACK
OYSTERCATCHERS were spotted along the jetty.


Sightings for Thursday, February 3

A PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER in breeding plumage was seen
on the south jetty at Iona Island, Richmond.

8 SNOWY OWLS were at Brunswick Point in Delta, and a further 3
were seen at the foot of 72nd Street on Boundary Bay.

Two BONAPARTE'S GULLS were at English Bay at the end of Bidwell
Street, Vancouver.

Blackie Spit in Surrey had a LONG-BILLED CURLEW, 16 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS and a COMMON REDPOLL.

The EARED GREBE continues off the White Rock Pier.

3 BARN SWALLOWS were at Elgin Heritage Park in Surrey, and
another 7 BARN SWALLOWS were along the Serpentine River nearby.

A GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was with TRUMPETER
SWANS in a field near Highway 10 at 112th Street, Delta.

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, 100 COMMON REDPOLLS
were along the East Dyke Trail and 2 RED CROSSBILLS were at the
viewing tower. Also at Reifel were 4 AMERICAN BITTERNS, a
GOLDEN EAGLE, a HUTTON'S VIREO, a male CINNAMON TEAL,
a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE, and a BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERON.
