Subject: [Tweeters] Straw Poll on an Unconventional Field Trip Idea

This message is targeted to Seattle Audubon Society members.

I have an idea for a "field trip" to visit an award winning master wood
carver who specializes in birds. This artist lives in West Port, and
his life-sized carvings of birds (mostly ducks) are amazingly detailed.
This man knows his birds - anatomy, feather structure, etc. The goal of
the trip would be to learn how he creates his art, observe a
demonstration, national/international wildfowl carving competition, and
whatever he thinks might be of interest to birders. Of course, there
would also be the option of birding in the field on the way over/back.

I've been bouncing around this idea for awhile, and Connie Sidles, the
ever wise woman that she is, suggested this straw poll to measure
interest.

If I hear back from you that you like the idea, I'll proceed to set
something up. If no one or few of you think it worthy, I'll forget my
idea and not waste this man's time. Frankly, any feedback is welcome,
especially if it helps me design a field trip.

Please respond to me off line.
