Tweeters,

Samish Flats - The Gyrfalcon was at the "West 90" on Samish Island Road
about noon. It was perched for quite some time on a telephone pole just
north of the barn (looking north from the WA Dept Fish & Wildlife parking
lot). The ABA book "A Birders Guide to Washington" Hal Opperman, page 120,
has more location information.

A Peregrine Falcon was seen perched in a tree west from the parking lot of
the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve off Bayview- Edison Road
about 9 am and later probably the same bird in a snag north of the parking
lot about 1:00 pm. Pg 119.

Fir Island - A Northern Shrike was at the WDFW Fir Island Farm/Hayton
Reserve access off Fir Island Road about 2:00 pm hunting in a field just
south of the end of the path. Page 116.

FYI - I noticed a WDFW sign near the Skagit Game Range headquarters (Wylie
Road off Fir Island Road, pg 115) giving a web site for the Wiley Slough
Restoration Project. This has a lot of information about the plan for the
area. http://www.wileyslough.org/
