Subject: [Tweeters] Streaked Horned Larks--Johnson Prairie, Fort Lewis

Dan Grosboll and I observed a male and female Streaked Horned Lark on Johnson prairie on Thursday Feb 10th around noon. The male was singing as he flew overhead and they landed in the prairie around the north end. They foraged around in the road edge for awhile before they were flushed by a vechile approaching. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first recordered incidence of this species on this prairie.
