Hi:

Saw a Bald Eagle today just before noon, flying then landing on a telephone
pole along the railroad tracks on Ruston Way - alongside the parking lot
just east of the smelter site. This is the first Bald Eagle that I've seen
in this area since the railroad cut down all those trees along the tracks in
that vicinity last summer. I do believe that there was a nest in what they
cut down. This is also the locale where I watched an eagle bring a salmon
to shore by winging its way in the water with the fish in its claws, again,
last summer.

Believe that a few weeks ago Ruth Sullivan reported a sighting of the Albino
Yellow-billed Loon at Dash Point which would indicate that it is in the
area, but have not yet seen it near either Les Davis Pier or Marine Park.
Walk along there frequently and have looked for it, but have yet to spot it.
