Greetings Tweeters,
There is still space available for next Saturdays Westport Seabirds Trip.
This is the make up for the weathered out January trip and so does not show
up on the regular schedule. There have not been many February trips so who
really knows whats out there. Previous February trips have turned up
Thcik-billed Murre and Mottled Petrel (both rare). Given the number of
Horned Puffins that have either shown up or washed up along the Pacific
Northwest coast, one might hope for that species as well. Winter has had
some amazing sightings in the past. Of course there are no guarentees and
winter trips can have relatively lower numbers of birds than other times of
the year. Check out Michael Donahue's fine article in the most recent WOS
News to see a review of last year on the water.
For more details or to make reservation please contact Phil or Chris
Anderson at (360) 268-5222 or pmand at reachone.com if interested. As always
it's weather dependent, and it's a bit early to telll. but not too early to
reserve one of the remaining spaces.
Cheers and hope to see folks on the water.
Bill Shelmerdine
