February 11, 5:23 PM - This is Bill Shelmerdine in Olympia (360 866
9106). I birded the Elwha River mouth this morning and the adult
ICELAND GULL was still present between about 10:00 and 10:30 in the
morning. There's a lot of THAYER'S out there and there's several with
very yellow eyes and real variable white wing tips, but this one bird
is very distinctive in the amount of white it shows throughout the
primaries. At about 10:30 the birds dispersed and there's a lot of
birds out on the water, so it probably comes and goes from the gravel
bar right at the river mouth. Good luck, and good birding.

February 13, 9:15 AM - This is Doug Shoenwald. I'm at Perch Point in
Grant County, Washington. I've got a TUFTED DUCK here. Directions are
to go down road 6 S.E. Take a left when you get to Perch Point on a
gravel road. It says Public Fishing. Go down the gravel road. Take a
right on the second gravel road and you'll see some open water in the
back end of this bay. There's a TUFTED DUCK here. Thank You.

February 13, 5:15 PM - This is Barry Levine (206 526 8676) reporting a
GOLDEN EAGLE today at Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge at the S unit along
the auto route. The bird was seen on the right hand side about three
quarters of a mile from the start. Also of note was a GREAT EGRET. It
was seen around the opposite side, just before you start on the bend
that takes you back toward the kiosk. That's it. Good luck and good
birding.
