11:30 start - water level high but dropping quickly (9:07 high tide -
11.1ft; 16:24 low tide - 1.3ft); mudflats not initially visible, but
higher mudflats starting to show by the time this scan ended
12:05 end

Tweeters,
Clear, crisp day, with fresh north wind and slightly choppy water at
Turning Basin #3. The PEREGRINE FALCON was on the top of the east power
tower when I first came out, but then at 11:55 made a quick westward
flight, taking a half-hearted pass at the starlings sunning themselves
on the girders at the Hamm Creek power substation. The starlings flew in
a tight ball southward; the PEFA flew west, then north without prey.

The first SPOTTED TOWHEE I've seen this year was in the blackberry
jungle just north of my viewing spot.

The domestic goose that has been hanging at TB3 consistently since late
Sep 2004 (and was seen aperiodically since early July), hasn't been seen
for the last two days.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Canada Goose (heard)
Mallard (2)
Bufflehead
Double-crested Cormorant (5)
Peregrine Falcon
Ring-billed Gull
Glaucous-winged Gull (15)
Rock Pigeon (28)
American Crow
Bewick's Wren
European Starling (11)
Spotted Towhee
Song Sparrow
House Finch

May all your birds be identified,

Denis DeSilvis
