Hello Tweets,

It would possibly be a good idea to this similar instance applying to private lands in Washington State! During a period while keeping track on the Redwing in Olympia we offered photos of the bird to several residents along with other rarities we have seen involved with being on private lands.

Sincerely,

Ruth and Patrick Sullivan

To follow up on Nancy's comments about sending money to Premier RV Resort of Eugene, I would not limit it to a $1.00. For those birders who have birded McAllen, Texas lately, you know that at least two private birding locations are charging $10 a head to enter their property, another is charging $5. We all drop a few bucks into the "sugar jar" at the Patton's to look at the hummers in their back yard, and pay fees to enter Federal, State, and local parks.

We specifically stopped into the shop at Premier RV Resort to spend some money, after seeing the Falcated Duck last month, so that the owner's would see us birders as $$; therefore, it is with regret that they are seeing as a loss of $$. So we will be sending our check and it will be at least $10 and hope others will follow suit.

With all of the development that is taking place in this world, I think we birders better start accepting the fact that we are going to have to pay to get access to the ever increasing developed private property and we face the loss of free undeveloped birding spots, as well as higher fees at parks as the general public demands tax cuts from our politicians and with a current administration in Washington who only see $$$$$$$ in the development of our national parks, forest, and preserves for their corporate friends.

Great birding and find that next lifer,

John + Irma = 2, we are birders, too.
