The family and I took a short walk around pond #2 (just west of the restrooms) just before dusk at Vance Creek County Park here in Elma today. Most notable was that I caught a glimpse of a Green Heron flying away from us from one of the smaller hidden ponds. Also, I noted a Yellow-rumped Warbler that was flycatching in the willow trees. Lastly, while scanning to the south with my binocs I noticed a small group of swallows flying over the southern pond. Too far to ID though, but it sure was nice seeing them. Is it Spring yet?

Good birding,
