Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday February 17. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On February 15 an adult male MCCOWN?S LONGSPUR was at the north end of the
Straits Drain Road in the Lower Klamath NWR. On February 13 a possible
EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE was with a flock of pigeons at exit 294 off I5 in
Tigard. The Bend HAWK OWL, the Coburg FALCATED DUCK, and the Seaside
YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER continue to be seen.

Two live HORNED PUFFINS were picked up on Cannon Beach and Rockaway Beach
during the week and taken to the North Coast Rehab Center. On February 10
five LONG-TAILED DUCKS were off the South Jetty of the Columbia River. One
was near Woodland Washington February 16.

Northward movements of TURKEY VULTURES, SAY?S PHOEBES, BARN and TREE
SWALLOWS were reported during the week. RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS are now moving
along the coast. A male RUFOUS was in Beaverton February 15.

A BLACK PHOEBE is now being seen at Vancouver Lake Park north of Vancouver.
The North Portland BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON roost has been relocated in
pine trees at Bridgeton Road and 5th Avenue. On February 16 a flock of 370
MOURNING DOVES were near Finley NWR. A February 15 raptor survey in Linn
County found 103 NORTHERN HARRIERS.

On February 13 six TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS were NE of Condon. On February 9
over 9000 TUNDRA SWANS, 4000 SNOW and ROSS?S GEESE, and 4000 WHITE-FRONTED
GEESE were at the Lower Klamath NWR.
