I saw a nice male Black Duck at the Everett Ponds a couple months before, September 21, 2004, so the population there may not be entirely gone.

I totally spaced when the Black Duck was at Juanita Bay Park. Now that the Everett population is defunct, this bird is a "review" species for the Washington Bird Records Committee.

Soooo, I saw several fine photos. If someone wouldn't mind e-mailing me your photos of that bird, I'd be most appreciative, and you'll be credited in the WBRC report.
