BirdNote premieres Monday, February 21, 8:58AM, on KPLU-FM.

Seattle Audubon and KPLU-FM 88.5 are pleased to announce BirdNote, a new
radio series featuring the rich sounds and intriguing ways of birds in the
Pacific Northwest.

BirdNote is designed to transport listeners out of the daily grind and into
the natural world. Beginning on Monday, February 21, a different BirdNote
spot will air each weekday from 8:58-9:00AM on KPLU-FM 88.5, following
NPR?s Morning Edition show.

?Seattle Audubon is pleased to collaborate with KPLU to tell these amazing
stories. We hope that BirdNote sparks curiosity about the birds of our
region and inspires listeners to renew their connections to the natural
world,? says Christina Peterson, executive producer of BirdNote.

BirdNote spots are scheduled to highlight birds that can be seen or heard
near the time of the broadcast. Following the series? launch, listeners can
learn more about the bird featured on BirdNote by visiting BirdNote?s
companion web site, www.birdnote.org. The web site will give visitors the
opportunity to listen to spots in the BirdNote archives, learn more about
the bird, or peruse Seattle Audubon?s on-line Nature Shop for books, gifts,
