On this brilliant sunshiny day (2/18/05), Harold &
Karen Cottet, and I joined Jim Acton in Spring Creek
Canyon (four miles north of Reardan) in northeastern
Lincoln County. Jim's expert Pygmy Owl imitation
quickly elicited a response from the little owl. After
about ten minutes, a NORTHERN PYGMY OWL flew over our
heads and into a snag.

We enjoyed some very nice views of this tiny forest
predator. The Pygmy Owl was a state lifer for the
Cottets and and Lincoln County lifer for me.
