Tweets - I just got back from leading a pretty successful Seattle Audubon
field trip to Kittitas County. The weather was awesome - cloudless, not
very much wind, and temps often above freezing. Great views!

The birding was somewhat quiet, especially in western Kittitas County, but
we did have some highlights for the day:

Common Loon 2 at Vantage, 4 at Wanapum
Rough-legged Hawk 2-4 along Reecer Creek Rd
Great Horned Owl 1 on US97 at Smithson
1 on Old Vantage Hwy at milepost 22
Hairy Woodpecker Male on Burke Rd (near US97 x SR970)
Horned Lark Great looks on Swauk Prairie Rd
Mountain Chickadee S. Cle Elum, and Burke Rd.
American Dipper Red Brick Rd. Teanaway bridge
Mountain Bluebird Male along Old Vantage Highway
SAGE SPARROW 2 on Tower Rd
(north off Old Vantage Hwy near mp 16)

The day ended at Wanapum with great views of GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCH (maybe
2-dozen total) coming in to roost on the cliffs and in the cliff swallow
nests south of the dam.
