i was privileged to join the pilchuck and east lake washington audubon
groups at paul dye's magnificent aviary near lake stevens today...

while my photos weren't all phantastic due to photographer idiocy (settings
that should NOT have been were, and i should have noticed much earlier than
i did; we won't go into that :), i did post a few of the betters on my
website for viewing...

among the new species included: the spectacled eider, what i believe (and
hope someone can correct me on if i'm wrong) is a pair of siberian
red-breasted geese preening each other, and a cute little winter wren...

if you've never been, you should drop everything and visit... it's
well-worth the drive from anywhere, and both mr dye and his wife are most
gracious hosts...
