Hi Dave,

It's the Para Ponds near Othello, and if Bob Flores says they are Tri-Colored Blackbirds, I'd believe him! The man knows his birds. Also, there has been a gradual shift over the past few years from the Tri-coloreds traditional hotspot at Wilson Creek to the area west of Othello. Come on down and take a look!

Hello Tweeters,

I have been reading the Washington Tweeters digest for several months now and have seen several posts concerning Tricolored Blackbirds at one particular location (sorry, I forgot the name of the "ponds"). There are never any follow up posts in reference to these reported sightings so I was wondering if these are in fact Tricoloreds rather than Red-winged Blackbirds? I have checked Washington state checklists and various books but don't find any mention of an annually recurring colony of Tricolored BB in any of them. Am I missing something?

Thanks!
