Good morning tweeters!

Wow! I had NO idea! A seemingly well kept secret!

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for their replies regarding my query
last evening, with a special thanks to Bob Flores, who replied with a
personal e-mail featuring the added bonus of a photograph! Thank you! Very
cool!

Secondly, yesterday was my first ever post to a Tweeters group and of course
I was a little nervous, considering the nature of my question, and hope my
phrasing in the original post didn?t give anyone the impression I was
questioning Bob?s (or anyone?s!) birding expertise! Definitely not the
case! I guess I was just surprised to read the periodic Tricolored posts and
not seeing any comments or hip-hip hoorays in any subsequent posts
considering this species is still listed as a ?review? species for both
Oregon and Washington (at least based on my lazy Google-style cursory
looks!). My apologies if I ruffled any feathers.

And last but not least
.having recently relocated to Vancouver (BC) from the
?far east? (Ontario), aside from highway birding the I-5 on my way to the
2002 NABA conference in Bend, Oregon, my only birding foray into Washington
was on January 9th of this year to see the Redwing (YES!). I have been
reading the Washington Tweeters posts religiously for the past 6 months and
have marveled at the amazing diversity of species encountered in all
seasons!

I have just ordered the ABA Washington bird finding guide (expedited
shipping!) and am already planning a ?Tricolored? road trip for the weekend
of March 5th! Perhaps I will encounter a few Tweeters ?at the ponds?!

Again, much thanks to all who replied to my ?na?ve? little query!!!!

Good birding!
