Subject: [Tweeters] Medina and UW birding

the medina heronry is in almost full force... i was there for about 2.5
hours this afternoon, and three of the four nests were occupado. of those,
the top nest was the most active, with male and female a'courtin' and
a'<explicit sex goes here>...

the north pond was easily the busiest, with between sixty and eighty
american wigeons, too many mallards, and a few ring-necked ducks... mixed
in with the AMWIs were at least two Eurasian Wigeon drakes (and i think
there was a third, though i couldn't prove it definitively)... it's also
possible i have a picture of at least one bird that could be an intergrade,
though it's more likely he's just a non-breeding male with no obvious
green... pictures of the EUWI are available on the website in Photos of the
Month.

on the south pond, a grand total of four AMWIs, two RNDUs, and one american
coot. what the coot was doing there, and how he got there, i have no
idea...
