My wife and I drove over to Vantage yesterday, with hopes of
photographing a sage sparrow and the rosy finches. The sage sparrow is still
on my want list, but we did manage to see a few finches. We only had 4 or
possibly 5 before we left at dark, but I did manage to get a few pictures,
which are posted at http://www.pbase.com/jvhigbee
A word of warning to anyone going there during the workweek. About 4
o'clock there is a steady stream of fast moving traffic coming from the
east. Seems to last about 1/2 hour or so. Also a number of semi-trucks went
past during the day. So be careful.
