Hi,

I just wanted to share... We did a quick check of the Samish
"T" on our way to hike around Whistle Lake; and we caught
the gyrfalcon on his normal perch
"http://www.fidalgo.net/~raspet/gf1.jpg" - plus, a very big
bonus. I had never seen a couple of GBH's have a feeding
territory dispute before. #1 flew across the road in front
of us "http://www.fidalgo.net/~raspet/gbh1.jpg" while we
were parked and landed to approach #2 with wings spread
wide. #2 responded with his wide wings
"http://www.fidalgo.net/~raspet/gbh2.jpg". The two of them
did their dance back and forth for awhile (but #2 only
seemed on the offense when #1 would turn his back). Then #1
WALKED slowly across the road with wings still stretched out
wide until he was back in the area he had left a scant 5
minutes before. Neither GBH seemed the least bit interested
that 3 observers were in the car watching from 15 yards
away. #1 even turned towards us at one point as if we we
also a GBH to confront about the dispute.
