Three observations of note on a round trip to Pasco this afternoon. A Northern Goshawk was about a mile north of the water tower off Road 68 (NW Pasco). Coming back to Othello there were just over 100 Sandhill Cranes at Scooteney Reservoir and nearby fields, and probably 5000 small Canada/Cackling Geese mixed with Mallards, N Pintails, GW Teal and other ducks at the north end of the reservoir. Between Scooteney Reservoir and Othello I saw more than 3000 Am Robins scattered in alfalfa fields, Russian-olive trees, and various perches in N Franklin and SW Adams counties.
