Subject: [Tweeters] RFI: ID of non-avian sound

While doing a census at Breaker Lake this morning I heard
an unfamiliar, high, bell-like "peenk" repeatedly coming
from the cattail marsh. There were multiple individuals
and it was not any kind of bird nor is any of the amphibians
that I recognize. The closest hing I've ever heard is the
bell like note that Costa Rican cockroaches make at night.

I doubt global warming has advanced far enough for tropical
cockroaches to have established themselves here. So, any
other guesses?
