Eric Bjorkman here in Vancouver, WA had a flock of Pine Siskins come in yesterday (Thursday Feb. 24) as we did too in our part of town. (They have been rather scare this winter). He noticed one of them didn't look like the others. It was much brighter, marked different and acted different. The bird defends it's perch at the thistle feeder by flaring its wings and tail with the bright yellow pattern. This bird looks like it could be an immature bird. If it is a Eurasian Siskin, it does not have the yellow on the face as some photos show although others on the internet show it can have very little if not the bright male. It does however have the face, wing and tail patterns as far as we can tell.

I have posted some first photos of the bird at the website below. Wilson Cady was working and my husband Arden is on his way home from Ohio so they were not able to go see the birds this morning. We have left messages for Ken Knittle. We can use some help in the correct ID. You will need to contact Eric and Tammy Bjorkman to see the bird from their house althought the feeder is visible from the street.
