Hello All
I made a few birding stops this afternoon between Auburn and Kent. The
flooded fields at 285th Street held a "Eurasian" Teal and an intergrade as
well as a flock of Least Sandpipers. Next was the Kent Ponds. A Barn Owl was
sleeping in the pine trees at Anderson Park, right where we've seen one
roosting in past years. Also at the ponds was an immature dark morph
Harlan's Hawk being mobbed by a harrier. Very few waterfowl were in the
ponds compared to a few weeks ago, although the variety remains. Lastly, the
Say's Phoebe is still present at the Boeing Ponds! It was actively
flycatching from a chainlink fence east of the ponds.
