Having studied the digital photos (I'll get back the slides tomorrow) and talking to Eric again, we are still not convinced that the siskin in question is not a Eurasian and we are not convinced that it is a "Green" Pine Siskin. I have been sent various information and have gone over the details with Eric who continues to see the bird. Arden and I tried this afternoon but only one American Goldfinch showed up in the couple hours we waited.

Bruce LaBar of Tacoma believed it to be a Eurasian Siskin. Others thought it was a "Green" Pine Siskin or even just a bright male Pine Siskin.

Our doubts arise from a few identifying marks and the illustration in the Princeton Field Guide to the Birds of Europe and info sent to me.
The under tail coverts on this bird are whitish not yellow or yellowish as in the Green form (photo 440)
The rump is faintly colored yellow (photos 431 & 452)
The supercillium is whitish not yellow but the illustration in the book shows the immature with a whitish face pattern, not yellow.

Could this bird be an immature (possibly an immature female) that does not have the bright yellow washes on it's face yet (or ever)?

Eric and Tammy Bjorkman live at 4110 NE. 54th Street in Vancouver, WA. This is just north of Hwy 500. The thisle feeder can be seen from the street. We would appreciate more birders to view the bird in person with knowledge and information on the species in questions to make a decision rather than relying on just the photos. The bird seems to be there more in the morning hours. We will be trying again early Tuesday morning for more views of the bird.
