Subject: [Tweeters] Redwing - at 4th & Cushing in Olympia at 3:30pm

The Redwing made a brief appearance in the tall bare tree on the north side
of 4th Ave at the corner of 4th & Cushing at 3:30. It arrived with a flock
of about 12-15 Robins that flew in high from the East, and "fell out" into
the neighborhood.
The flock was "jumpy" and left the tree after about 4-5 minutes. The flock
headed due west across Division/Black Lake and again "fell out" into a tall
cottonwood just west of the west Olympia power substation. I hustled down
there & attempted to re-locate the redwing, but only could find Robins.
There were 3 small flocks of 8-10 robins in the line of Douglas firs and
alders at the top of the rise, but alas, no further sign of the redwing.
Good luck to all in the morning!
Happy New Year,
